College shapes an individual’s life through imparting the relevant skills and knowledge they are to use in their daily and professional endeavors. Therefore, choosing a reputable university is a primary step in shaping one's career path. One of the greatest mistakes that young people do is rushing in their choice process; thus, they end up choosing the wrong college. Making the right choice always requires time and effort. In my case, this process has been shortened due to the fact that I live in the vicinity of the University of the Pacific. Last minute rush and waiting to be accepted by any college is not a good idea as this is a life decision that one has to be careful about. There are various factors that contribute to a college’s reputation. These factors are revealed through the extensive research and comparison of different colleges.
I have visited some colleges and conducted a small research based on observation. As a result, the University of the Pacific stands as one of the best schools. It offers a conducive learning environment that is ever-evolving. I remember that when I last time visited the University of the Pacific, I was awed by the structural development that was indicative of growth with time. Having been brought up in Stanislaus County, I perceive this university as a beacon of hope in the learning and education sector. I have attended several gradations in the school; since that time, I have developed the zeal for being part of the school. According to the review in the New York Times, a familiar environment is key to advancement in education. To me, the University of the Pacific is a representation of this familiarity; as such, it becomes my university of choice.
Learning does not entail only understanding of books and gaining knowledge on the industrial and cooperate world. Social and physiological learning are also important aspects in the learning curve of an individual. However, some of these aspects are inculcated not in the but through the relationships and family cohesion. In this case, I feel that the University of the Pacific serves as an excellent base point for my increased union and relationship with family. Success in education is achieved not individually but as a combined effort. Therefore, having my family around will ensure that as I get out of my comfort zone, I will have the moral, financial, and physiological support that will inevitably result in my success.
Based on my financial background and current status, I am realistic to believe that the college is affordable and will not incur strain on my parents. In addition, it offers some of the best equipment and facilities that will facilitate learning and research in my field of interest. The proximity of the institution offers a good start for consultations, meetings with supervisors, and consulting with trusted friends and family members. The University of the Pacific is very appealing for me since most of my role models attended this college. In addition to this, I feel passionate about my county, and living to the expectations of my society and family members is an irrefutable feeling. Attending this specific college will be a process attained through hard work and passion for ensuring a good career. Lastly, based on personal preference, I am not the partying type, and this college offers the perfect learning and concentration environment. I like to have fun at the college events and those held in the society. Becoming part of the students that bring a positive change into the people’s lives is the aim of me joining the college.
